A Spanish security company has chosen to implement the UAN-Safe app as a personal safety alarm for its installers. The personal alarm is intended to increase the installers’ sense of safety and security.
“Implementing UAN-Safe is primarily a measure to protect installers when they work in more high-risk environments, perhaps in the evenings or at night, where there may be a need to quickly call for help,” says Jeanine Öhrstedt Holmgren, Chair of the Board at Intrasenze.
Intrasenze does not want to name the customer but states that it is a Spanish international security and service company with over 40 years of experience in the industry. The operations include technical installations, security guarding, alarm monitoring, and integrated security services. The company has 1,000 employees and works with government authorities, municipal organisations, and private companies across various sectors.
Audio and positioning
The Spanish company’s installers will now – with the help of UAN-Safe – gain access to an integrated personal alarm where both audio functionality and location services are key components.
“In an emergency, an alarm can be sent directly to the company’s own alarm monitoring centre, where staff immediately receive a real-time picture of where the person in distress is located and can also listen in through an opened audio channel. This gives the monitoring centre an immediate understanding of the situation and enables faster and more appropriate actions,” says Jeanine Öhrstedt Holmgren.
Man-down function
For additional safety, a man-down function with time-based alarms is also used. The man-down function means that the app automatically triggers an alarm if a person is suspected to have become immobile or ended up in an emergency. The installer activates a timer in the app, and if it is not deactivated in time, an alarm is automatically sent to the monitoring centre.
“This ensures an extra layer of safety whenever work takes place in solitary or high-risk situations,” Jeanine comments, adding that the project clearly shows how UAN-Safe can enhance safety for field staff while giving the company a powerful tool to handle incidents quickly and efficiently.
